Gas – Series 1 Polyethylene (PE) Pipe

Series 1 (metric) PE80 and PE100 gas pipe is usually used for conveyance of LPG and for larger diameter high pressure pipelines for natural gas.

Traditionally PE80 (Medium Density Polyethylene – MDPE) pipes are coloured yellow outside and PE100 (High Density Polyethylene – HDPE) pipes are black with yellow stripes for identification as conveying gas.

LPG gas reticulation can be a combination of metric pipe for the main feed and imperial pipe for the house connections.

Series 1 gas pipe is manufactured and licensed to AS/NZS 4130 (Bureau Veritas S Mark Licences No 2729 and 2722).
